The Department of Power, Goa, on August 06, 2026, notified the Goa Public Lighting Duty (Amendment) Rules, 2026, to further amend the Goa Public Lighting Duty Rules, 2021.
The following has been stated: -
•In Rule 4, sub-rule (1), after Clause (i), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:— “(ia) Proposals recommended by the Members of the Legislative Assembly for extension of Low Tension (LT) network for installation of streetlights within their respective constituencies may be submitted to the Executive Engineer or Assistant Engineer of the respective area. The Department may execute such works after sanctioning the estimate as per the delegation of Technical and Financial powers of Technical Officers of the Department as per the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) Manual in force.”
•After rule 5, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:— 6. Source of Funding for Public Lighting Duty Fund (PLDF).
They shall come into force on August 06, 2026.
